I’m so excited to tell you all about the upcoming Book Club that Catholicmom.com is hosting. The Friendship Project is a book written by Michele Faehnle and Emily Jaminet, co-authors of Divine Mercy for Moms. Michele and Emily have been friends for over 20 years and in their latest book they share about spiritual friendship and how to cultivate good, uplifting spiritual friends. They also share how, in the words of Francisco Fernandez-Carvajal,
Down through the centuries, friendship has been (and still is) a pathway along which many men and women have come close to God and gone to heaven (pg xxi).
Each chapter looks a different pair of saint friends, their relationship and a virtue their friendship exemplifies for us as we seek to foster spiritual friendships in our own lives.
Catholicmom.com will be hosting the book club starting on Sept. 30. A group of contributors (yours truly included) will be posting weekly through Nov. 4 about our reflections, reactions, questions and overall insights gained. Since Emily and Michele are regular Catholicmom.com contributors they may even be in on the discussions in the comments! How awesome is that?!
